SATURDAY 24 September

14:30-15:00: Selling Films Socially with Distrify
Have you made a film but can't get it in the cinemas? Do you have people from around the world asking when your documentary will be available? Have you tried selling online? Distrify is an option for film distributors and producers who want to sell directly online, turning the familiar film-trailer into a point-of-sale for VOD, downloads, DVDs and screenings. Managing Director of Distrify, Peter Gerard, will present Distrify's unique toolset, that can help you engage with your audience and incentivise legal sharing, turning your audience into a global salesforce for your film.
Join us for a discussion about online marketing strategies, social media and creative concepts for distribution.

Speaker: Peter Gerard, Distrify

15:00-16:00: Distribution Strategies
How do distributors work with targeting documentaries? And how do their methods vary from one distribution window to the other? We have invited three experienced distributors to share their knowledge on targeting documentaries via cinema, DVD and video on demand. Terry Stevens will present a case study bringing Into Eternity out on DVD and cinema in the UK, Artur Liebhart talks about his work with Armadillo in Poland, and Andreas Wildfang will talk about his online documentary platform realeyz.tv. Learn more about how different documentaries are targeted across different windows.

Speakers: Terry Stevens (DogWoof, UK), Artur Liebhart (Against Gravity, Poland), Andreas Wildfang (EYZ Media & realeyz.tv, Germany)

16:00-17:00: Synergy or Separation - are the windows closing?
For some years it has seemed like "old" and "new" distribution methods for documentaries were two separate worlds. Releases through different distribution windows have been kept apart and fights have been fought to keep it like this. But is this approach to documentary distribution changing? And are the "old" and "new" distributors finding collaborative ways leading to synergy? We will open the windows to take a look.

Speakers: Jamie King (VODO, UK), Peter Jäger (Autlook, Austria)

17:00-18:00: Documentary Openings
Whether targeting a wide audience or professionals, the very first minutes of your film are the most important ones. If you do not grab the attention of your viewers within the very first minutes, they will most likely not watch the remaining part of your film. Jan Rofekamp is addressing this essential problem by showing a number of great documentary openings and identifying key issues to make sure your next beginning does not become the end.

Speaker: Jan Rofekamp (Films Transit, Canada)

SUNDAY 25 September

16:30-18:00: Breaking Through to the US Market
How does a Nordic documentary get US financing? Which US financiers are looking for Nordic documentaries? Through a case study we will examin what it takes to make your documentary work for the US market, and the US financiers present for Nordisk Panorama will introduce what works for them.

Speakers: Sigrid Dyekjær (Danish Documentary, Denmark), Ian Davies (Initialize Films, UK), Basil Tsiokos (Sundance Film Festival, Curator indieWIRE @ Hulu, USA), Simon Kilmurry (POV, USA)

Every year Nordisk Forum for Co-financing of Documentaries is attended by some 30-40 Nordic and international decision-makers.
