Nordisk Panorama Forum for Co-financing of Documentaries is the main funding event for professionals involved in the Nordic documentary community. It is the annual meeting place for documentary producers, commissioning editors from tv, film institutes and regional film funds, international decision-makers and other film professionals. Furthermore, film school students attend Nordisk Forum for an intensive educational experience.
Nordisk Panorama Forum has taken place in conjunction with Nordisk Panorama since 1994.
Networking & Introduction
Nordisk Panorama Forum kicks off on Sunday 21 September with the networking event Producers Meet Producers, aiming to facilitate the efforts to find suitable co-production partners and form the bonds necessary to access funds across borders.
In connection with Producers Meet Producers Nordisk Forum welcomes a specially invited foreign delegation, enabling the invitees to connect with the Nordic documentary community and vice versa. In 2014 Nordisk Panorama Forum is looking forward to welcoming a Balkan delegation.
Sunday also offers an introduction to the decision-makers at Nordisk Panorama Forum. The day ends with an informal Joint Dinner, giving Nordisk Panorama Forum participants a chance to meet their colleagues in a relaxed atmosphere before the pitching begins.
Pitching & Meetings
During the forum, a selection of 24 new documentary projects will be pitched to the more than 40 attending decision-makers. Among the 24 projects, Nordisk Panorama Forum presents the Nordic Wildcards brought to our attention by the documentary consultants at the Nordic film institutes because of their novel qualities, to boost the element of innovation and surprise.
Nordisk Panorama Forum is also open to cross-media documentary projects with a film or television component and at the forum decision-makers and experts from this field will be in place alongside the traditional decision-makers.
Afternoons are set aside for individual meetings. To ensure the quality of the matchmaking, only pitch teams and observers with a selected project (observers+) will be able to request meetings with decision-makers. However, if decision-makers have an available meeting slot, Nordisk Panorama Forum participants are free to approach them for meetings.
Based on previous years, around 60-70% of the projects pitched are expected to secure additional financing as a result.
Nordisk Panorama Forum is open to professionals that have applied for and been granted a seat. More than 200 professionals will attend the event, and we are looking forward to three intensive days of networking, pitching and discussing the selected projects.
