Who is doing what in new media in different parts of the world? This presentation will provide an overview of some of the major new media video platforms and evolving business models on the Internet, regarding licensing your already existing shorts and docs to various new media platforms. We also examine original production specifically for web, mobile and transmedia exploitation, including more recent international trends. Specifically to independent producers of shorts and docs, Sharon will offer practical suggestions to consider in the international market regarding new media aspects and related business models, along with some handouts for reference.

With projects like Gaza/Sderot, Havana-Miami and Prison Valley, French/German broadcaster ARTE has proven to be on the forefront when it comes to working with cross platform documentaries. Jöel Ronez from the web department of ARTE France will talk about how the public service broadcaster has been working with cross platform documentaries so far and how they plan to do so in the future.

Meet CEO Andy Whittaker from Dogwoof, a UK film distributor specializing in social issue films. Dogwoof releases films in UK across theatrical, DVD, TV, mobile and online platforms in order to trigger change. They are constantly trying new technologies, and new business models, to optimize their work with independent distribution. Andy Whittaker will talk about how Dogwoof operates and share his experience from campaigns on films such as The Age of Stupid, Burma VJ & Videocracy.
