The 13th edition of Nordisk Forum took place in conjunction with
Nordisk Panorama – 5 Cities Film Festival, and again Nordisk Forum
proved itself as the main event for the Nordic documentary film
community and the joint platform towards the international community.
Participants and projects
A total of 193 participants from 11 countries attended Nordisk Forum in Aarhus.
The number of applicants maintained a high level, totalling 68 project
applications from the eight participating countries counting the five
Nordic and three Baltic countries.
In addition to the 21 selected, 3 projects were pitched in the new
category of pitching introduced last year, the so-called New Talent
Pitches, welcoming new up-coming documentary filmmakers with their
brand new projects to the Nordisk Forum scene.
The three New Talent Pitches were again this year very well received
and confirms Nordisk Forum’s importance as a springboard for newcomers
to the documentary community.
New feature - Nordisk Forum Online
This year, Nordisk Forum introduced a new internet component, Nordisk
Forum Online, offering attending financiers the opportunity to preview
the Nordisk Forum projects online and see short trailer excerpts. This
service was very well received and will be further developed for 2007.
Meetings
Filmkontakt Nord pre-books all individual meetings between financiers
and producers in order to avoid unnecessary pressure and provide the
best working conditions for the delegates. A total of 249 meetings were
booked, which is a 20% increase from 2005.
