New Corporate Identity for YLE
This month the Finnish public broadcaster YLE launched its new corporate identity and also changed the name of its Swedish-speaking channel FST5 to YLE Fem.
With its new look YLE aims to "get closer to the Finns", using a logo in a fresh turquoise tinge, an amalgamation of the company's two previous colours: blue and green.
The name change from FST5 to YLE Fem was decided by the Swedish YLE management and the Finnish broadcaster's Director General Lauri Kivinen as the result of an audience survey and internal discussions within the broadcaster.
"YLE Fem feels fresh. The way ‘Fem' is written clearly shows that the channel is Swedish-speaking. Viewers also immediately understand that it is a YLE channel, and that it is available on the broadcaster's number 5," said YLE Fem Head of Programmes Nicolina Zilliacus-Korsström.

Online Database for Icelandic Film
A database with extensive information about Icelandic films has seen the light of day and was formally opened at the end of February by Minister of Education, Culture and Science Katrín Jakobsdóttir. The database, which is both in English and Icelandic, will be managed by the Icelandic Film Centre. It includes around 8.000 names of individuals, 700 companies and more than 1.200 film titles.
Films can be searched by title, year of release and genre. The film factsheets contain relevant information such as cast and crew, involved companies, festival selections and in many cases a poster and a trailer.
Cast and crew can be searched by first name or by category. The most detailed profiles contain filmography, contact info, photo and bio. The listing of companies contains names of Icelandic companies as well as foreign companies connected to Iceland such as foreign distributors and co-producers.
The database will be an essential tool for anyone interested in Icelandic films.
