Record Breaking Number of Submissions for Nordisk Forum
The deadline for submissions to Nordisk Forum for Co-financing of Documentaries has come and gone. For the 19th Nordisk Forum we have received a record breaking number of applications with a total of 98 eligible projects.

The projects have been submitted by producers from the Nordic and Baltic countries: 13 from Denmark, 1 from Estonia, 16 from Finland, 7 from Iceland, 3 from Latvia, 31 from Norway, 25 from Sweden and finally 2 projects from this year's guest country, Poland. 89 applied to pitch whereas 69 applied in the category observer+, giving access to individual meetings with decision-makers.

This year we're opening up the forum to also include cross-media documentary projects with decision-makers from this field in place. 10% of the applications are cross-media projects and we're looking forward to presenting a selection for the pitch.

The selection process is in progress and the selected projects will be announced mid July.

The deadline for accreditation to Nordisk Forum is 1 August.

The 19th Nordisk Forum takes place in Oulu, Finland, 23-25 September in conjunction with Nordisk Panorama.

New Platforms for Young Talent at Nordisk Panorama
This year Nordisk Panorama is sharpening its focus on the new generation of filmmakers in the Nordic countries. In September, Nordisk Panorama will offer two new events for young filmmakers in the northern city of Oulu.

Short Film Talent Campus will provide a valuable platform for networking and professional training for short film directors, producers and scriptwriters. This new initiative is done in collaboration with the audiovisual resource centers in the Nordic countries and co-financed with Nordic Culture Fund. So far 10 Nordic regional funds have signed up to take part in the event and give regional filmmakers a possibility to attend the training. Talent Campus tutors and participants will be announced in July.

Student and Teacher Rendezvous for Film and Media Schools is an event aiming to add networking between students and collaboration within film schools in the Nordic countries and beyond. The event is hosted by Nordisk Panorama with Aalto University, ELO Film School Helsinki and Oulu University of Applied Sciences, School of Music, Dance and Media. For participation info and guidelines for film submission for the student screening, please contact Event Coordinator Marika Lamberg, event@nordiskpanorama.com.

Transmedia Seminar and Hackathon during Nordisk Panorama
Mark your calendars and prepare your transmedia projects for the first ever Nordic Transmedia Hackathon on 21-23 September during Nordisk Panorama in Oulu Finland.

The Encounters Transmedia Hackathon invites filmmakers, web developers, game designers and others with an interest in transmedia to work together on demos and prototypes for projects that bring new dimensions to storytelling. Up to 5 projects will be selected and 'hacked' during an intense weekend of non-stop cross-disciplinary collaboration. Participants who don't wish to apply with a project will have the opportunity to gain experience by joining the project teams.

In addition to the Hackathon, which will take place 22-23 September, Filmkontakt Nord and Encounters invite you to a state of the art Transmedia Seminar on Saturday 22 September which will be open to all accredited guests at Nordisk Panorama. Nordisk Panorama Encounters will offer plenty of opportunities to network with transmedia producers and experts during this action packed weekend.

Registration for projects through encounters.fi is open from 9 July to 9 August 2012. Information on how to apply and a more detailed programme will be released shortly.

The Nordic Transmedia Seminar and Hackathon at Nordisk Panorama is organised in collaboration with Filmkontakt Nord.

Nordisk Forum will kick off with a revamped version of the networking event Producers Meet Producers Sunday 23 September, featuring in-depth networking, a Polish delegation, co-production case studies and matchmaking. This is a perfect place to find suitable co-production partners and form the bonds necessary to access funds across borders.

Producers can sign up for the event when registering for accreditation to Nordisk Forum as either pitch teams, observers+ or observers before 1 August. Seats are limited and producers are asked to fill in a motivation for participation in the event when registering.

Polish Delegation at Nordisk Forum
This year, Nordisk Forum welcomes a specially invited delegation of Polish producers to facilitate connections outside the Nordic countries.

The Polish producers will participate in the networking event Producers Meet Producers, where they will outline their production landscape and present themselves. Furthermore, the Polish delegation has been invited to apply for pitching and meetings on the same terms as their Nordic colleagues. A maximum of 2 foreign delegation projects can be selected for pitching and they also have the possibility of being selected as observer+.

In addition, we will welcome a number of Polish commissioning editors and sales agents to the pitching and meeting tables.

The Polish delegation is arranged in co-operation with Krakow Film Foundation, Barbara Orlicz-Szczypuła and Katarzyna Wilk.
