Film Fund for Copenhagen
After several years of negotiations, the City of Copenhagen has succeeded in establishing a film fund to put the Copenhagen area on the map of the international film industry. With a budget of DKK 35 million divided over 3 years, the fund will support Danish and not least international film productions in the Copenhagen area.

The Copenhagen Mayor of Culture Pia Allerslev emphasizes that the fund does not provide art support. It is created as a trade fund, requiring a local spend of DKK 2,5 per DKK 1 granted, which will benefit the overall economy of Copenhagen. A director of the new film fund is expected to take on the position before the summer holiday and start looking for film projects.
